To find a home is all anyone ever wants right? That’s what these little guys wanted and that’s what they’ve got. Hopefully. Brought to you through Figma presentation as Slides is particular, an illustrated short story following Pounce and Bounce. Brothers on a trip to find where they belong.
Through thick and thin, they’re by each other’s sides through it all. Join the trip through the past that leads up to the present and see how much they’ve grown.

Favorite Parts
Drawing backgrounds and finding a text color that would be legible on the brightness or darkness of the illustrations.
Some of the Slides didn’t have backgrounds so I had to make them while keeping the old style since it had been two years since the original was made.
Cataloging the life of a cat through the eyes of a cat is difficult when you don’t truly know if they actually use the same words we use for the same thing.
Illustrating
Given that I enjoy drawing, illustrating for a narrative was fulfilling in the way that Fireflies was but in the form of what could be a children’s picture book at some point. It’s an idea that I’ve been wanting to explore because I feel like there’s a lack of quality mass produced books for young kids compared to when I was young.

As this was my first official time using the software, the project itself is limited due to my beginner status. The website you are currently looking at is the second and vastly more complex since it is a site and not a clickthrough presentation like the original slides. It was interesting to work around copying something and then having something else pasted instead but I managed and am happy with the outcome.
